Key dates

Applications close at midnight on Sunday the 24th of March 2019. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by early April 2019.

Selection process and criteria

Application will be assessed and shortlisted by a panel of young people. If a large number of applicants apply, IAYMH youth participation staff will undertake an additional shortlisting process before the selection panel meet. Whilst they will not be able to assess your application if a conflict of interest exists, please note that your application may be seen by panel members who you know personally or professionally. Please note that only a limited number of bursaries are available under each grant category. Application assessment will be partially based upon the completeness and quality of the application submitted. The panel will be shortlist bursaries to young people from a range of different countries.

Organisational support

To support as many young people as possible, and to promote organisational support, bursary applications that detail organisational support (financial or non-financial) may be prioritised during the selection process. In instances where successful applicants have financial support from another organisation (e.g. funding towards flights or accomodation), applicants may be provided a limited bursary that accounts for the external financial support to allow the IAYMH to support more young people.

Successful applicants

Successful applicants will be informed and registered to attend the conference. Depending on the bursary type, accomodation or flights and accomodation will also be arranged through the conference organisers. Bursaries provided to successful applications are still dependant on young people responding to correspondence from the conference organisers within reasonable timeframes to confirm that they are able to attend. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
